John Robb today says that the dog-who-interviews-Star-Wars-fans video is pretty funny. I agree, but wait til you see the "Mastercard" video. ROFL. (Does contain adult sexual humor, so keep the speakers low unless you wanna explain what a blow job is).
Thanks Karl for this: maybe Knight Ridder's technology executive moves to new job at HotJobs. I'll let you read between the lines. People don't move jobs in an uncertain economy for no reason.

By the way, I have witnessed first hand the corruption of the journalism industry at nearly every job I've worked at. Sean Gallagher has that part totally right. It's getting worse, not better, and I think this is because of the extreme economic pressures on journalists right now.

If you're a journalist out of work right now you probably won't be able to find another job in the journalism industry. So, what do you do? You play a totally safe game. You don't go after advertisers unless you have management approval already (do you realize how hard it is to get your management's buyoff on a story like that). You don't attack your boss.

It's amazing how hard people make it to find their email address. Do they understand that, while they probably get less spam, they also get less business? I just made a speaker decision based on how easy it was to find their email address.

How many opportunities are you losing because no one can figure out how to get ahold of you? Especially if you're in the content generation business? It's always amazing. I wanna make it easy for you to get ahold of me. My email is robertscoble@hotmail.com and my cell phone is 408-314-8233.
