Comment [] Comment [] Oh, here's some Friday evening funny thing -- what are men like? Well, read on.
Men are like.....Floor Tiles. If you lay them right the first time, you can walk all over them for years!
Men are like.....Bank Accounts. Without a lot of money, they don't generate much interest.
Men are like.....Blenders. You need one, but you're not quite sure why.
Men are like.....Coffee. The best ones are rich, hot, and can keep you up all night.
Men are like.....Commercials. You can't believe a word they say.
Men are like.....Computers. Hard to figure out and never have enough memory.
Men are like....Coolers. Load them with beer and you can take them anywhere.
Men are like.....Copiers. You need them for reproduction, but that's about it.
Men are like.....Government bonds. They take a long time to mature.
Men are like.....Horoscopes. They always tell you what to do and are usually wrong.
Men are like.....Lava lamps. Fun to look at, but not all that bright.
Men are like.....Mascara. They usually run at the first sign of emotion.
Men are like.....Popcorn. They satisfy you, but only for a little while.
Men are like.....Snow storms. You never know when they're coming, how many inches you'll get or how long they will last.
Men are like.....Used Cars. Easy-to-get, cheap, and unreliable.
Men are like.....Cash Machines. Once they withdraw they lose interest.
Men are like......Bananas. The older they get, the less firm.

Did you hear me on CNET Radio today plugging Radio? It was "free plug Friday" so I called up and gave it my best shot. I hear Dan Gillmor of the San Jose Mercury News gave Radio a plug earlier in the day.
How did I learn to do these cool things with Radio? Easy. I went to Google and searched. Here's what I found:

Add Links and "Google It" links to Radio Weblogs.

Comment [] Comment [] Comment [] Basically after two hours of careful examination of Java vs. .NET it basically came down to "use .NET if you're on Windows and use Java if you're anywhere else."
Hey, what about Frontier? After all, UserLand is the company that started Web services by inventing XML-RPC and SOAP (Chappell said that too).

David Chappell speaking to the .NET User Group last night in Silicon Valley (held on Microsoft's campus in Mountain View). He compared and contrasted Java with .NET.
Some of the quotes in my notebook -- totally out of context, of course!:
"Webservices is one area where .NET is well ahead [of Java]" Chappell says. "Sun resisted Webservices because it came from Microsoft."
"I believe the pinnacle of language design is the curly brace,"
"Are C# and VB.NET different languages? I don't know."
