Simon Fell's Blog Toaster is awesome. What a great way to use instant messaging.

Anyone getting up in five hours for the World Cup final?

Web Builder Conference update:

I broke all land speed records putting this conference together. Fawcette gave me less than two weeks to plan it and invite everyone and I did it. Wow.

Have you ever broken your own personal record for something? It feels good, doesn't it?

Lots of people are telling me they are really looking forward to this conference. It's a lot smaller than previous years, but I'm looking forward to it too.

The Web industry is hungrier than past years to get going again.

I still have one session open for late-breaking technologies. I wonder who we'll invite? UserLand? Pyra? Macromedia? Adobe? Microsoft?

Anyway, the agenda is now up. Hope you can join us.

Good morning "Great Turtle in the Sky Fans"

I always wondered why our money doesn't have "In Santa Claus we Trust" on it.

After all, if Christmas would be eliminated our retail industry would be decimated (I know, when I managed a camera store, a very large percentage of our sales came in during November and December).

On another topic, I learned that computer manufacturers can sell Windows 2000 until February 2003. NEC's new computers will ship with both Windows XP and Windows 2000 until then.

However, it's now against Microsoft's rules to sell computers with Windows 98 on them. The last NEC-built Windows 98 computer has left our docs.

On another note: it sure is nice to get up in the morning and see Dave Winer posting.
