And Microsoft just released another junk e-mail filter update for Outlook two days ago..

The only problem with Outlook's junk e-mail filter is that using the Rules Wizard, if you have a mail account (eg. test@mysite.com) forwarding to another email account. And you have setup a rule to move all mail addressed to that account to a specific folder there doesn't seem to be a way to create an exception.. so anything flagged as spam doesn't get routed out of the Junk E-mail folder.

A review of Outlook's Junk E-mail filter from MAPILab.com in Kaliningrad, Russia. And there's also the SpamBayes Outlook plug-in that Jon Udell praised.

Norton AntiSpam 2004 has one annoying bug (that's also mentioned by Joseph H Pierre in his Amazon review of NAS2004).

It chokes on certain kinds of emails, so you have to disable Norton AntiSpam and then accept all the mail with it turned off. If it chokes on the first mail scan in the morning, then I get a few hundred emails to go through. I think I'm going to give the Outlook junk mail filter a try. And it also has the benefits of knowing the Safe Senders list can't automatically be imported.

It would at least be nice to have a logging feature to get an idea of which specific email is causing it to fail, which might help Symantec correct the problem.

Just got a new Samsung ML-1710 laser printer. I don't do that much printing, so it seems to be a pretty decent entry-level printer. And it was only $150 Canadian (including rebates) before taxes. The first toner cartridge change will almost cost as much as the printer.
