> Sam Ruby: Sam Gentile is back. My recommendation: ignore the e-mail from nay-sayers.  In the long run, those that do the most are respected the most.
[Sam Ruby]

Wow! That was a fast turnaround. ;-)

Wait a minute. Drayton and Ruby are both pointing at the same post and drawing opposing conclusions. I love it! I hope Sam is right, but I won't tell you which one. ;-)   5:37:28 PM  Link  Google It!
> Peter Drayton: Sam Gentile explains why his blog went off the air. Sounds like it might stay off the air, which would be a pity. Hopefully he will reverse his decision, or someone else will pick up where Sam left off. It was helpful having someone play the role of Link Maven, linkblogging a daily dose of .NET articles from around the web.
[Peter Drayton's Radio Weblog]

I have no idea what happened to precipitate this decision, but I have to disagree with part of Sam's reasoning. Weblogs are much more than glorified electronic diaries. They are an incredibly democratic form of communication.

As for checks and balances, it is, at least for the most part, a natural equilibrium. Each of us are responsible for checking our own facts. Irresponsible blogs won't get read or linked to (except maybe as example of what not to do).   5:22:01 PM  Link  Google It!
