A
command-line tutorial for Linux Users. A helpful resource for Windows and Macintosh users who have to do some of their work on Linux, and want to learn their way around. Allez donc, vous serez ravis après, le command line c'est un peu comme du fromage fort, répugnant à premier abord mais dès qu'on s'y habitue difficile d'y résister (et de manger du cheddar doux) [Via Random Hacks] #
A working XHTML 2.0 page
It works in IE6, Opera 6 and Mozilla. It is styled with CSS. I had to do some coding to get the links to work. For IE6 I made an HTC behavior that creates handlers for mouse events (yuck). For Mozilla I made an XBL binding that adds XLink attributes. And Opera 6 has CSS extensions for links. Being allowed to make every element a link makes the html code very clean. Sections structure the page very well. And the navigation lists are perfect for weblogs. So don't say it's just markupbation or that we'll be stuck with XHTML 1.1 for quite a while

Office 2000 HTML Filter 2.0
The Office HTML Filter is a tool you can use to remove Office-specific markup tags embedded in Office 2000 documents saved as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). When you create an HTML document in Office 2000, Office-specific markup tags are embedded in it... Once you have completed editing an HTML document in Word 2000 or Excel 2000, you can use the Office HTML Filter to remove the Office-specific markup tags from the final copy of the HTML document. Très utile, et plus facile que Tidy... #

New Architect: Debugging Web Applications
So how do you produce code, especially code that drives complex Web applications, without going crazy or losing your shirt? One answer, though certainly not the only answer, is to rigorously test and debug the entire code base. Bon survol, quelques trucs utiles. #

CVS version control for web development
This writeup describes use of cvs version control for web development, quality assurance, and maintenance developed at inter@ctivate consulting group. Utile, surtout que je monte un nouveau projet avec un serveur CVS en ce moment même. #

ASP model for content management attracting looks
The CFOs who are trying to figure out how to stop the burn rate are seeing you can pay a quarter million [dollars] and up for something like Vignette and have it burn a hole in your balance sheet, or you can get CM as a service, with a predictable payment schedule, and treat it like an operating expense. If cash is king, the ASP model is really attractive... hehehe, et dans quelle genre de business je travaille moi déjà? #

Some major Mozilla UI changes
Lot's of changes are under way for the Mozilla browser: customizable toolbars, skyline; a new web client optimized for fun and broadband for the daily needs of novice-intermediate users, Phoenix; a redesign of the Mozilla browser component written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform. The mozilla/browser project has resurfaced on mozdev. Wow! Visitez le site hyperlié pour avoir tout les liens, je suis trop pressé ce matin... #

Burningbird: Weblogging Consortiums
I am not unmindful of what Blogger has provided to the community these last few years -- a free and easy way for webloggers, especially new webloggers, to get their voices online. However, I do believe it's time for the community of webloggers to take some of this burden away from Blogger. Before we lose a whole lot of webloggers when Blogspot goes down for the count.
An effective approach would be to create Weblogging Consortiums -- groups of webloggers who band together to lease a server for an entire year, thereby sharing the costs of the server among themselves. In particular, webloggers wanting to move to Movable Type 2.2 with MySql support have been faced with increased costs, especially if they're using Windows-based systems. Shared space would be very cost effective. Quelle bonn idée, ça fait 3-4 conversation à ce sujet que j'ai avec quelques amis/connaissances... et j'y travaille encore activement, à suivre! #
