I'm not receiving SS yet but next month my rent is increasing by 12.5% after last years increase of 20%. I know that my food costs have increased a similar amount. Perhaps the prices of fundamentals like food and shelter are not included in the governments calculations? The numbers don't lie, people lie about the numbers.
