Reducing the Number of Posts on the Home Page
I just returned from a trip to China. Radio runs on my desktop PC at my house, but I can access it to post while travelling through the remote access features built into Radio (once I tweak Zone Alarm to allow access that is). I learned of a problem I hadn't considered before, though.
Radio displays a set number of previous articles on your home page, each with the Edit button that you can click on to change the article. Knowing that Internet access in China was suspect and that we'd be working long hours making posting difficult, I posted the daily Scripture readings ahead ten days for the whole trip.
That made for ten posts with 20-35 KB of text per message. And on a 30 KBPS dialup connection, that takes a long time to load.
You can set the number of previous posts to display on the Prefs page for that setting, but the number is hard-coded with a minimum value of 10. I asked about this in the development group for Radio with this question:
The minimum number for previous posts displayed is hard-coded at 10. Is there a reason this can't be set smaller? I just arrived in China where I mostly will have dialup connections (24K is typical) and it takes a long while to load my home page when connected remotely.
I'd like to see this number smaller, perhaps from 10 to 3. Any thoughts?
Here's the reply I got.

Hello, Gary;
Go to the Radio's Tools Menu.
Traverse to Developers > Jump...
Then enter this: weblogData.prefs.viewing.ctPosts
Then change the number to the desired number of posts you wish to see on the DWHP.
Hope this helps,
Robert
It does help, and I'm posting it here for future reference. Thanks, Robert.
