Weekend Geekdom
I spent this weekend recycling a bunch of my computers. I use the term recycling, not in the strict sense, but I sold a bunch of older stuff to make room for and pay for the new stuff that I have.

Sorta, my version of spring cleaning.
I sold a powerbook to a nice guy from Raleigh, NC who's a photographer.

I worked on my sisters Wintel box, trying to see what might be causing her grief. I think I'm going to sell her an iMac. She'd really benefit from iPhoto, and she's my sister and I have to look out for her and her kids!

I solved my Return to Castle Wolfenstein dedicated server problem. Before, I couldn't get the game server to run on my iMac server. Apple isn't supporting OpenGL on early model iMacs and so I was kinda stuck. I changed the equation a little and moved my server from and iMac to a G4. It's faster and more expandable, and really is a better server solution. I put a spare Apple / Adaptec 2940U2b LVD scsi card and 36gig drive into the box for growth, and moved the system disk from the iMac over for a no-hastle system swap. It's great having a hardware independent OS for such things.
I saw a friends new Dell 1.9 ghz / 17" LCD system today. It's nice, but.... I could think of a better way to spend the $2400.

I gardened some as well. Jenny, Helena, Charlie and I worked up our beds for the vegetable and flower garden we're going to try this year. We didn't plant there yet, but did manage to put in Chinese Privets, ferns, and hostas.
