Friday -
The Copenhagen Business Centre and
CSR Europe, launched the
European Academy of Business in Society, an initiative to: (quote)
- research and present empirical evidence on the business case for Corporate Social Responsibility
- integrate CSR into the mainstream of business education, helping deans and professors at business schools and universities promote new teaching models
- foster an ongoing dialogue and partnership between business leaders, business school leaders and other stakeholders
Finally, an online CSR toolkit is currently in the making for small and medium sized companies to understand the benefits of CSR and help them to report on it.wonder what CSR is? - Corporate Social Responsibility
"The next big thing in brands is corporate social responsibility (it will be clever to say there is nothing different about our product or price, but we do behave well)" - The Economist, 8 September 2001
The end of earth as we know it:"America's consumption 'footprint' is 12.2 hectares per head of population compared to the UK's 6.29ha while Western Europe as a whole stands at 6.28ha. In Ethiopia the figure is 2ha, falling to just half a hectare for Burundi, the country that consumes least resources. "
perhaps we should look elsewhere for inspiration on how to run a country and do business, and stop copying the united states...
Or as R.E.M put it in "
It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)":
Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.Do you feel fine about it?
