I have been looking into this interesting concept - Earthships for the last few days, fueled by this wired article. These constructions got it all beautiful design possibilities (see these pictures), self-sufficiency, built from cheap recycled stuff and they are adoptable to almost any environment...I also stumbled across this ingenious greenhouse design, using soap bubbles to control and insulate the sunlight, perhaps aarstiderne.com could adapt this design and make the winter vegetables more interesting...
these concepts could do wonders in third world countries!
