For Old Parts, NASA Boldly Goes . . . on eBay. To keep the space shuttles flying, NASA has begun trolling the Internet to find replacement parts for electronic gear that home computer users would find primitive. By William J. Broad. [New York Times: Technology]

It's fairly disappointing to hear that NASA has fallen into such stasis, but it's not surprising I suppose. There don't seem to be any concrete goals for the next twenty years. Nasa's new vision for the future seems pretty vague to me in fact. Going to Mars seems like the next obvious project, but I don't know if it's the answer. 9:34:19 PM
