Just a minor thought, the first weblog-like activity would probably qualify as the use of finger, in the way thet some developers use it. Example: John Carmack from ID Software.

Was Mac Opera gored on Safari?
The company has expressed significant doubts it will continue producing a browser for the Macintosh operating system, echoing a growing problem for third-party Mac developers as Apple Computer steps up its own application development efforts.
This, of course, presupposes that they were producing a browser for the Macintosh operating system.
Don't get me wrong here, and this definately isn't a case of sour grapes a'la "well if they won't develop for the Mac, who needs them!".
I have, at one point or another, given just about every reasonable attempt at a browser for the Mac OS (9 and X) a run. All of them usually manage a few days as my "try out" browser, until I eventually drift towards the one I prefer.
Currently, I'm using Safari, but just barely edging out Chimera (Reason: Stability)
I have tried just about every upgrade of Opera and none have lasted more than an hour. Bad interface. Bad, Bad, interface. Decent browsing speed. Just nothing to really recommend it.
Considering they've gone through two major versions, the crowd has voted with their feet. Bye Opera. Too bad you didn't do better, but...well..if you'd done better, we probably wouldn't be saying bye.
Mind you, I think this quote is telling:
Specifically, Tetzchner said that he had asked Apple whether it would be willing to license Opera either to replace KHTML, or to supplement the current Safari version, which Apple said is a stripped-down affair with a minimalist interface and limited feature set.
Uh, huhn. I wonder how long it took to get the team at Apple to stop laughing at that. Probably a long time, if any of them have used Opera.
Opera Team: (rated 2.6 of 5) Go Download Chimera (4.3 of 5), Go Download OmniWeb (3.6 of 5), these are third party Mac browsers that know what the hell they are doing, and have different strengths to recommend them. If you still wanna play ball, check them out. And quit bitching about Safari (4.0 of 5)
