Havard employee fired for Weblog "But Burch said that a handful of unflattering references to her workplace interspersed throughout the site’s archives raised eyebrows at the department." [Harvard Crimson]

I have to admit that it was probably the bombing, shotgun and homicide references that they quote. Although who's to say they're not over-reacting, not having read the actual weblog. One thing triggered a memory tho:

"problems began two weeks ago when Burch was told that her e-mail signature—which, in addition to the journal link, contained a quote from feminist punk musician Kathleen Hanna—was inappropriate."

When I used to work for the Air Force, I got told that my .sig had an "inappropriate" quote in it: "Unless you stalk and overrun, you can't devour anyone." -Hobbes

Yes, I got hassled for a Calvin and Hobbes quote. Mind you, I can see why it might bother someone. But only if that person were a complete wussy. :)

Of course, at the time, I wondered if they thought I meant the other Hobbes.*grin*

F150 or Mini? Hmm, which car would you rather have been in?

Funny thing, is someone impolitely parked me in while I was at a client this morning, didn't come out after 5-7 minutes, honking horn, etc. While I was waiting wondering where this clueless person was, it occurred to me that I was staring at a Ford F150. If I'd had a printer I'd have printed the pic on the spot and left it on his windscreen. :)

(I finally managed to jockey my car backwards out of the spot.)
