Great News, UserLand is working on image handling in Radio:

The number one item on my list for this weekend is to get images working at a higher level in Radio 8. I want it to be easy and convenient and delightful.  [Scripting News]

This is one area of the Radio experience that is pretty clunky right now. I am looking forward to having it streamlined.
