San Jose is blessed with many vibrant neighborhoods. I try to keep up with neighborhood events throughout the city, but my focus is on downtown/central San Jose.

The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program of Santa Clara County is offering an all-day seminar on Saturday, May 10, 2003 "Gardening in the Valley of Hearts Delight."

The keynote speaker will be Rosalind Creasy, author of over twenty gardening books. She will be talking about gardening with children.

Learn from the experts. A selection of 38 classes on gardening topics will be offered: Backyard Birds, the Dirt on Soils, Roses, Container Gardening, Garden Design, Vegetable Gardening, Cut Flower Gardens & Flower Arranging, Growing and Showing Iris and many others.

$35 for the day of seminars, which includes the keynote speaker, your selection of gardening classes, a plant sale and gardeners market with many vendors from plant and affiliate organizations.

An optional box lunch will be available for$10.

The gardening seminar will be held at Buchser Middle School, 1111 Bellomy in Santa Clara from 10 AM to 4PM.
