This Thursday July 3 is the 4th Annual Mix 106 Concert for the Homeless
in Discovery Meadow. Past concerts have featured name brand talent
like Smash Mouth, Michelle Branch, and the Bangles.
But this year's show, even without the household names, is probably the
best talent we've ever showcased in one day. Dana Glover is a very hot
singer songwriter from North Carolina with gospel roots and Cheryl Crow
chops. This woman can BELT out a tune, and you may have heard her song
"RAIN" on Mix 106, and lots of other adult stations like KFOG and
ALICE. Josh Kelley is also from the South - Mississippi by way of
Atlanta, actually - and is one of the new young male singer-songwriters
climbing the charts. His song "AMAZING" sounds like a young Dave
Matthews, who incidentally is a big fan. And Chantal Kreviazuk is one
of the top female pop stars in Canada, recently beating out Alanis
Morissette and Celine Dion for a coveted JUNO award - the Canadien
Grammy. If you listen to Mix 106, you've heard her powerful "IN THIS
LIFE" single.
Also on the bill, returning from San Diego is Taming Ingrid who burned
up the second stage last year, Emaneht, who could easily be mistaken
for No Doubt, and Tiana Noyes, our local version of powerhouse
alternative.
THIS IS A GREAT SHOW, people, and I''m not just saying that because I
want to sell beer. Well, actually I DO want you to buy beer [or wine,
or water, or soda], because all proceeds from beverages, and a
significant portion of the food as well, benefit the homeless programs
of EHC. You can really help just by coming down and enjoying an amazing
show, so please do.
This is the total family show - all ages are welcome, and there is lots
of fun and games and rides in kidland.
Oh, and just in case you didn't know:
