Fluid Flow: Neighborhood News
San Jose is blessed with many vibrant neighborhoods. I try to keep up with neighborhood events throughout the city, but my focus is on downtown/central San Jose.

Will you help us in the garden for a free ice cream sundae?

We need your help! The San Jose Heritage Rose Garden in the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens has over 3700 varieties of roses, the most in the Western Hemisphere. This year's weather pattern caused almost all of the roses to bloom several times. It was spectacular! But now the amount of deadheading to be done is daunting. We're hoping you will help out in the garden on Tuesday, August 13 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Bring your clippers if you have some, and our volunteer experts will show you how its done to ensure continued bloom in the garden all the way into the Fall!

After deadheading in the garden, you can join us for a free ice cream sundae at the Garden Center. It will be an enjoyable and rewarding way to spend a summer evening.

The San Jose Heritage Rose Garden is located on Taylor Street, at Spring Street, just east of Coleman Avenue. For more information or to sign up, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Lucy Perez, at 408-298-7657 or email lperez@grpg.org
