San Jose is blessed with many vibrant neighborhoods. I try to keep up with neighborhood events throughout the city, but my focus is on downtown/central San Jose.

Rose Diseases Workshop Saturday, October 18, 2003 9:00 am - 12:00 Noon

Do you know what to do when your rose leaves get black spot or yellow veins? Ever wonder what to do with powdery mildew on your roses? Join the Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens for an informative morning learning how to identify and treat those diseases that seem to plague your rose bushes at this time of the year. We will start with a slide show on the various diseases followed by a disease "hunt" through the Heritage Rose Garden. The treatment options will focus on the least toxic methods, although there will be information on how to safely use other methods as well.

The class will be taught by local Rosarian Joel Mattox and the cost to attend is $8.00 for Friends of GRPG and $10.00 for non-members. Space is limited, so reserve your spot early by sending a check to Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens, 50 West San Fernando Street, Suite 1100, San Jose, CA 95113. Visa and MasterCard are also accepted via phone or mail. For more information please visit www.grpg.org, contact the Education Coordinator via email at education@grpg.org, or call (408) 298-7657.
