Spring is in the Air...Get Composting!
Wednesday, February 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Don't throw out that banana peel or your lawn clippings -- use them to
make compost instead! Start now, and have compost ready to give your spring
garden a boost.
The February 18th composting workshop will cover items such as: what can be
composted, the various methods of composting, and how to use the finished
product. We will also discuss worm composting, or vermicomposting, and help
you choose which methods works best for you. The workshop, co-sponsored by
the Santa Clara County Home Composting Education Program and the Friends of
Guadalupe River Park & Gardens, is free to everyone but space is limited, so
sign up early!
Gourds - How to Grow Them, What to do with Them

Gourds are easily grown and have many shapes and forms that can be used for
a variety of projects. Join the Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens
to find out how to add gourds to your garden and how they can be utilized.
The instructor, Jennifer Wool of the Calabash Club of Silicon Valley, will
bring in several samples of gourd art to get your creative juices flowing!
The cost to attend is $13.00 for Friends' members and $15.00 for
non-members.
Both events will be held at the Garden Center, located at 715 Spring Street.

mail. Refunds for the events will only be made if the event is cancelled or
