gadget lust

I love my Sidekick. I really do. I use it constantly, everyday, and feel lost when I don't have it or it needs to be recharged.

But sometimes I wish it was more flexible. I wish it got better reception in this area (none in the house).

I remember wondering about the Treo 600 when it first came out, but stuck with the Sidekick. Everyone says that the sidekick multitasks better, and I do use that. I'm typing on IM, reading email as it comes in, and surfing the net, all at the same time. I'm hoping I can do that with the Treo.

But... The Treo costs so much more than my Sidekick did. And I know I'm trading one set of known ideosyncracies for an unknown set.

I just wish there was an honest Treo 600 vs. Sidekick review out there. Everyone I've read has been written from the point of view of the owner of one device slamming the other device (my bet is that they are just trying to justify their choice rather than create any more light).

Gadget lust is a bad thing.
