in our print class today wayne schoenfeld presented his portfolio of large photographies printed on epson 7000 --using piezography by jon cone. nice process, beautiful works (sell for $1200-3600). wayne also publishes books, a set of which he gave to the class. he hinted he might publish a book of our class print portfolio. wayne shoots on film and scans them on a $15,000 imacon, sending 35mb of 16bit data to the 7000. good eye, good taste, perfect technique, nice process, deep blacks, rich grays, everything is there...
when jon cone had mentioned his new process to me last siggraph, i thought he was just bragging. but seeing is believeing.
