i want to start a new round of implementation of my software to reach several goals I have so far missed. I produce my pieces as I want them, but always need to spend too much time programming the new ones. i need to be able to document more clearly, and reuse or evolve more easily. so i will once again invest more time hoping to waste less of it later, and to increase control & freedom. i must now choose the right programming medium...
-i liked RMB but it is a dead force, and i disliked basic, although it worked well at the time
-common lisp was too rich, and is a dead force too
-i love chez scheme, but don't have it on macosx yet
-i like mma but it gets slow or even completelyswamped with large data sets, and i dislike it's notebook interface, preferring the xwindow console to run my packages, but this does not work as well on macosx
-i always bewared of c (although i could make it work well with much pains) and i always stayed away from c++
-i liked tcl/tk, another dying force, but dislike perl.
it seems that a combination of python and swig could be the next, right solution. I have been able to do a few nice pieces in py and pil already. I am interested in leo for literate programming and in pil and other python libraries.

at last I am back on dsl. I have now my web server in colocation at impulse, and a thinner dsl with only one ip number to save on service. I connect now through a firewall, and have to adapt to using dhcp. when this will be done, I'll be ready to work again. at least my studio is up again also, and this week I could complete several experimental ink and pencil drawings.
I have tried to install a+ but failed; I looked at J but it appears to be mostly ms oriented. I look again at literate programming, a different but permanent temptation.
