Yesterday afternoon, brush fire near La Cumbre peak in a bright, sunny haze. Line of fire, lines of smoke. Flight paths of firefighter planes. Strokes of sunlight from water dropping choppers. Large, slow, ample stroke of cinabar pastel as the bomber dropped its load of fire retardant powder. I wish I had filmed that last, genial one.
