I read daily complaints about Radio blatant lack of documentation, and I find the attitude of Userland who don't correct this issue and don't even discuss it on their pages, very arrogant. Again today, Ed Cone.
I am about to try to fix a friend's Radio, after it collapsed inexcusably when she upgraded to 8.05 recently. The lack of clear instructions makes it very unsafe to attempt anything but the most basic chores with the software. What is true for Radio is even more true for Frontier/Manila, which I have renounced to use in the present state of its documentation.
For now, there is no macos x version of chez scheme, and mathematica packages are not as friendly as they were on linux or irix (having x windows on macos x would help). So I am challenged by my old tools to write new ones. Although i have more pressing things to do than rewrite tools, I enjoy discovering the ingenuity behind the latest languages I am learning, and the possibilities they open for me.
After a batch of pencil pieces, I am now experimenting with brushes, which is straightforward, refreshing and always surprising.
