California Weekly Hay Report
Southern California: FOB Barn/Stack: 23,823 Tons Delivered: 6,025
Compared to last week, Premium and Supreme Alfalfa, limited
production and near steady. Demand Good. Supplies light to moderate
on Premium, no production of Supreme in southern desert now. Fair and
Good Alfalfa steady to weak. Demand very light as most dairies have
adequate inventories of this kind of hay. Supplies becoming heavy and
as season continues more will be available. Seeing more hay from last
season production show up. Exporters mostly active on Sudan hay, but
not very interested in current Alfalfa production or Bermuda hay.
Retail and stable hay steady to 5.00 lower in southern desert, mostly
steady in Antelope valley areas.

accounts, 85.00-90.00 FOB. Sudan, fine stem, mid/light green, 120.00-
127.00 FOB. Blythe, Parker: Fair Alfalfa, light weeds, grass and/or
rain damage 75.00-80.00 FOB. Contract for Fair Alfalfa, not more than
10% grass, 65.00 FOB.
