California Weekly Hay Report

Southern California: FOB Barn/Stack: 18,130 Tons Delivered: 6,150 Compared to last week, Premium and Supreme Alfalfa not tested. No production of this kind of hay this time of the year. Fair and Good Alfalfa steady. Demand light as standoff between buyers and producers continues. Supplies moderate to heavy. Hearing more dairies in financial difficulties. Scattered rain showers and humid weather has made production difficult at best. Seeing damage from white flies on lots of new production. Retail and stable hay holding steady. Demand light to moderate. Supplies moderate. Exporters still buying Sudan hay, but very little of the other kinds of hay.
