California Weekly Hay Report
Southern California: FOB Barn/Stack: 16,245 Tons Delivered: 7,350
Compared to last week, Premium and Supreme Alfalfa not tested.
Fair and Good Alfalfa steady in light test. Demand light. Supplies
moderate to heavy. Weather finely cooled off late this week.
Producers hopeful to start producing fall hay. Retail and stable hay
fully steady. Demand good. Supplies moderate. Antelope valley
producers finishing up their production. Lower desert areas trying to
finish selling outside hay before moving into barns. Interest in barn
hay occurring in Antelope valley. Exporters not showing much interest
in new buys, pretty much have needed inventories. Of course a lot of
attention has been toward fires going on in the San Diego/Los Angeles
areas.
