Southern California: FOB Barn/Stack: 17,161 Tons Delivered: 3,950
Compared to last week, Premium and Supreme Alfalfa steady to weak,
demand light to moderate, supplies light to moderate. High desert
area concentrating on putting up retail hay now. Fair and Good
Alfalfa steady with previous weeks light test. Hay sales really
slowed down this week as buyers and sellers taking a wait and see
attitude. Weather turned quite warm/hot and that is making the hay
change in quality. Retail and stable hay not fully established as
more producers changing from dairy hay production to retail and horse
hay production.
Exporters not real active, most looking ahead to Sudan hay
production, most producers ready to put hay into bale this weekend and
next week.
