Contra Costa Times takes on Bay Area Council

Leave them alone
BAY AREA LEADERS WOULD be smarter to focus their attention on solving this region's growth problems rather than funnel their energy into deflecting a legislative proposal that attempts to solve Sacramento's growth challenges.
[Contra Costa Times - Editorials]

>>>The Times editorial board has a point - but they ignore all the work the Bay Area Council has done to foster regional growth management in the Bay Area.  They also fail to realize how political solutions are often based on precedent.  The State's Congestion Management Agency (CMA) legislation in the early '90s was based on the growth management program contained in Contra Costa's 1988 transportation sales tax measure.  Other areas should also be watching AB 680 and Sacramento - because it will set precedent.
