Alamo Creek development hearings set [Contra Costa Times - Enviro/Growth]

CONTRA COSTA TIMES

Contra Costa County officials have scheduled three hearings for public comment on the controversial Alamo Creek development.

After the hearings, which will all take place in the Board of Supervisors chamber in Martinez, the board will vote on the 1,400-unit Shapell project, along with smaller developments from Ponderosa Homes and Braddock & Logan in the same planning area.

The Contra Costa County Planning Commission approved the Alamo Creek proposal in January. However, the San Ramon Valley Regional Planning Commission denied the project at the same meeting.

>>>This is really the first test of the "new" Urban Limit Line ("ULL").  Does it mean anything to be inside the line?  Not really.  If you're property is outside the line - little or nothing can happen.  If you're property is inside the line - you become the focus of the anti-housing attack.  The ULL is really just the anti-growth groups' resource allocating tool.
