A news conference disintegrated into a verbal free-for-all Monday morning between Contra Costa Supervisor Donna Gerber and supporters of the proposed Alamo Creek development.
Gerber, a stalwart project foe, organized the event to suggest design alternatives to the plan for 1,440 houses in the Tassajara Valley.
The full Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote on a general plan amendment this evening that would clear the way for developer Shapell's project, as well as smaller neighboring developments from Braddock & Logan and Ponderosa Homes.
To nobody's surprise, Gerber said she would vote against the proposal and urged her colleagues to send project planners "back to the drawing board."......
