Walnut Creek mayor's cancer offers warning
The word from Mayor Sue Rainey's doctor was a case of first the bad news, then the good news. A test confirmed she has colon cancer. Yet it does not appear to have spread, and surgery alone -- instead of debilitating chemotherapy and radiation treatments -- should cure her.
