Feds balk when laptops walk. The Justice Department chastises the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration for "a lack of accountability" in keeping track of laptops. I just got back from the optometrist. He told me I have nothing to worry about. A few days I suddenly developed a "floater" that looks like a bunch of dark fibers floating around in my right eye. He said it will probably go away or become less noticeable after a few weeks, and there's no sign of a detached retina or any other problems. 1:21:15 PM    Comments []

I discovered that MetroWerks' standard libraries don't understand Unix-style paths in CFM projects. When I call fopen("/Library/Preferences/com.absolute.settings","w+b") it creates a file called /Library/Preferences/com.absolute.settings in the current directory. When I converted my project to Mach-O, it worked correctly. I should probably be using CFPreferences to get the proper path, although my settings file isn't a standard XML preferences file. 11:12:14 AM    Comments []
