The company-wide goal that my group will support is "We know what we are sending out." In other words, when we send software out the door, we know our risk. We know our exposure. We know how likely it is for each area to have an undiscovered bug, and how severe those bugs might be.

We may be disappointed when a bug is found in the field, but we won't be surprised.
