A flashmob happening at UBC (Friday Aug 15 at noon).  Lets see if anybody shows up. I am somewhat skeptical since it appears that there is a careful dynamic to these things.

'Micah' states in a recent post on Flashmob.com  (Problems with Static Instructions):

There seem to be four phases to typical flash mobs.

1)     First, collect email addresses of interested individuals. Next once a critical number has been reached,

2)     send an email announcing the location of where they can aquire the 'script' for the action.

3)     Third, distribute the 'script' and do the action.

4)     Fourth, disperse.

A low-tech solution to the problem of having a static instruction is to alter steps two and three slightly. Once the necessary number of email addresses has been collected, the list should be randomly divided into a dozen or so different lists. Each list should be sent a different instruction indicating a different location to get the 'script'.

I missed the first step (oops) - jumping ahead to step 2 (simply trying to organise one on Flocksmart).  This will get more sophisticated with time.
