I'm officially Warped!
I took Lindsey and a couple of her friends to the Vans Warped Tour festival in St. Petersburg today. It was at the Vinoy park, which is a nice park along the bay down by the St. Pete Pier. We had great weather, that is if you like a lot of hot sun. It did cloud over a little later in the day.
I spent some of my time in the Reverse Day-Care center that they had for parents only. It had air-conditioning, free water, and movies. I did watch a few of the bands, Tsunami Bomb, Vendetta Red, Less Than Jake, Rancid, The All American Rejects, The Ataris and of course the amazing Phenomenauts with the "streamerator, a tricked-out leaf blower, blasts a whole roll of toilet paper out into the crowd in a few seconds."
Todays show was the third show in a 19 day stretch of shows. I don't know how they do it. The show starts at 11:00am and runs until 8:00pm. Then they have to break down the 5 stages, the skateboarders half pipe, all the band merchandise tents and pack them up and hit the road for the next days show. I'd love to see a behind the scenes documentary on how all that happens.
Lindsey got a little too much sun, and had a crowd surfer fall on her, but other than that I think we all had a great time. I didn't bring the digital camera just some disposable cameras so pictures will be coming along in a day or two.
