I love the Inkernets! Today I'm reading Kottke's blog and there's this
item about some
excitement at Technorati about employee blog posts and all that stuff.
Anyway it leads me to a site that has old WW2 posters . Chelsey has an assignment for school
that has to do with coming up with her own version of one of these
posters. She's going to love seeing all these examples.

Chelsey and I were up most of the night Monday night. Chelsey is
sick, sniffling, sneezing, stuffy head etc. I had to go pick her up
Monday after she finished her FCAT testing. She came home and fell
asleep. She slept for a few hours. Then when bed time came along she
couldn't sleep. A combination of cold medicine, afternoon nap, and
anxiety about more FCAT testing the next day prevented her from sleeping.
She would come into my room ever hour or so saying she can't get to
sleep.
Finally around 1:30 am I went to her room and did the only thing I
could think to do, I sat by her bed quietly and waited for her to go
to sleep. As I sat there quietly not sleeping, I remembered all those
times when the girls were babies and I would sit on the floor next to
the crib waiting for them to go to sleep. Listening to them cry
themselves to sleep was just too painful.
So here is sit today in that wonderful half conscious state of the new
parent that only spent a very short time sleeping the night before.
