'Bubble boy' saved by gene therapy. In one of the first treatments of its kind, UK doctors have used gene therapy to cure a toddler of a potentially fatal disorder. [BBC News: sci/tech] This is huge. Mark you calendars, this is the dawn of a new age in medical treatment. A cure for a genetic disease using gene therapy. The world has just changed.
