During 1994-1999 the CDC estimates that nearly 450,000 people a year died from smoking related causes. Adult male and female smokers lost an average of 13.2 and 14.5 years of life, respectively, because they smoked. If you smoke, quit, if you don't, don't start. A surprizing number of the college students I teach smoke and they should stop.

If you are considering using infant formula, you may want to read this report by the CDC. Powdered formula was contaminated with Enterobacter sakazakii The baby died from the infection. This was a premature baby and most older infants would likely tolerate the contamination, but it's something to think about.
