GM mosquitoes offer malaria hope. Genetic engineers take the first step towards disarming mosquitoes
that carry malaria. [BBC News: sci/tech] Make the mosquito resistant to the disease and break the chain of infection. An interesting idea, but it opens up a whole can or worms. It would involve releasing the modified moquitoes, large numbers of them, into the environment. Environmentalists would not be jappy.
