Carbon Nanotubes Found To Fluoresce; Optical Properties Could Prove Useful In Biomedical, Nanoelectronic Appli. These structures are plain whacky. They are a unique form of carbon unlike diamonds or graphite. They can penetrate cell membranes, it is possible to wrap other molecules around them and now they fluoresce in the near infrared. A wavelength that our bodies don't absorb. All sorts of utilities will come from these.
