Every once in a while, I go back and take a look at Ansel Adams' work, and every time I am simply blown away. Look at "Clearing Winter Storm"--you've seen the image a million times, but it never loses its impact.

I know the zone system. I even own a (neglected) zone meter and a medium format camera. But I'll never, ever be able to make a picture that even approaches his worst.  8:42:45 PM     Add a comment
