No, I've not given up. I just had a lot to do around a great trip to Tahoe, the highlight of which was an overnight backcountry tour to the Bradley Hut, which we shared with a cool group from the Bodwin College Outing Club (Well, I think they were carrying the cold virus I'm recovering from now, but I can't blame them...). Backcountry skiing in the Sierra is addictive. The relatively stable snowpack makes it less anxiety-generating than on locations further inland, and the well-spaced mature trees offer delightful glade skiing (documented in the pictures). If you go, do not forget avalanche preparedness and other outdoor skills, best learned with a reputable guide. 4:56:13 PM |
