Backcountry plans moving nicely. Terry and I will be staying at Tioga Pass Lodge Jan 6-10. This is what you can reach from there. Drool. Others may join. Decided to use 50K free Continental miles that I had been carrying for two years without ever being able to find available "standard" slots to redeem them. Sure, frequent flyer programs have even more catches than wireless calling plans, but after all I wasn't succeeding in using the credits more effectively, and online reservation services (Orbitz, ...) were very uncooperative today. Added bonus: since we need to carry our gear, I won't be taking laptop, work books, or any other inessentials. For the first time since July in Paris, I'll be able to say truthfully that I am unable to get to my email. 3:57:06 PM
