It is pretty interesting that the PI seems to be heading in a liberal direction while the Times seems to leaning conservative. Since they are in a struggle in which the Times wants to destroy the PI, and has apparantly wanted to ever since the JOA was first presented. I read the Times less and less. Probably because it also has less and less news to read that can not be found at other, better sites. I certainly will not be upset when the Times finally goes under, although I am sure it will bemoan all those people 'stealing' content by reading other sites and try to force them to pay the Times. At least, that seems to be the route many Media companies are taking.  10:29:19 PM

It is nice to have a retired Cronkite telling us how he really feels. I will never forget his narration of the series, The 20th Century and the 21st Century. I wish there were journalists on TV as well respected as he was in his day. Great article to remind people just how deep our friendship with France extends. It also has a wonderful quote from the conservative Financial Times of London:

alone the U.S. is far more vulnerable than it likes to believe, while in concert with free nations, it is far more powerful than even it can imagine.

This is so true. Even the elder Bush knew this. His coalition-building in Gulf War I was the pinnacle of his success and may well be the legacy of his Presidency.  10:14:50 PM
