Pope rejects condoms for Africa. Africa's Aids battle should be fought with abstinence not condoms, says the Pope in his first comments on the issue. [BBC News | News Front Page | World Edition]

In the real world, abstinence-only programs do not work, so pursuing this rhetoric only results in people dying. What has been shown to work is abstinence coupled with monogamy and condoms. This saves people's lives. But the Pope is not interested in saving lives. He is in the soul-saving business.   10:28:23 AM
