Nitpicker
Terry is on a roll
. Writing about the
assassination of Zawahiri
accidental bombing of 18 people, he observes:
We have no military access to Pakistan, period, and I say this as someone who has sat with infantry and special forces troops near that border. The truth is we've just violated the sovereign territory of a "strong ally" in the War on Terror.
Also a country we really hope has stopped selling nuclear technology to other countries, countries like Iran.
As Terry rightly says of
our ability to deal with Iran
:
Bush's misuse of the military in Iraq has left us in no position to mount yet another military campaign. In other words, Bush sent troops into Iraq to protect us from imaginary weapons of mass destruction, leaving us vulnerable to real ones.
And honestly,
why do Republicans hate veterans
?
- Josh Rosenau [Thoughts from Kansas]
Yep, killing Pakistanis in Pakistan is the correct way to deal with a needed ally. One that already has its own population that distructs us. But go ahead and kill some people in another sovereign country, and fail at the mission. Poor decision. 9:59:38 PM

269K.. How much former Attorney General John Ashcroft has made as a lobbyist representing four clients for just three months.
[Think Progress]
Yep, this is what it is like to 'retire' from this government. Get a nice job as a lobbyist and make millions smoozing with your former employees. Feathering one's nest seems to be the first rule for government leaders today. Then setting up a cushy job. Being a politician is simply a path to a much better paying job. No wonder it is not working. They don;t really care anymore. they just want to put in their time until they get to the real purpose - making millions as a lobbyist. 9:43:16 PM

Is al-Zawahiri Dead? Answer: No. Bump and Update: Update: al-Zawahiri was not killed in the attack on the Pakastani Village. Between 17 and 30 villagers were killed, and Pakistanis are protesting the air strike.
According to U.S. sources,
CIA-operated unmanned drones were believed to have been used in the attack, U.S. sources said. A Pakistani intelligence official said four missiles had been fired.
It looks like the raid has resulted in creating at least one future terrorist:
At another destroyed house, Sami Ullah, a 17-year-old student, said 24 of his family members were killed and vowed he would "seek justice from God." [TalkLeft: The Politics of Crime]
Let's see who was it who said: I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive.
Yeah, he did not fire that $2 million missile and hit a camel in the butt! He killed perhaps 24 or more of the wrong people. Seems to have missed the guy he was aiming at, as usual. Talk about decisive. 9:24:45 PM
