BERKELEY — State and regional park leaders opened a 17-acre slice of the Berkeley Meadow on Wednesday afternoon, lauding it as a great spot for walking, relaxing, bird watching and people watching.

(Via InsideBayArea.com: Top Oakland Tribune Headlines.)

A big heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of people who worked for this park over the last 5 decades. I regularly walk and ride my bike along the shoreline. The views are fantastic, looking across one of the world's great bays at one of the worlds great cities and one of the world's great bridges.
