Continued to move books out of the nursery today. I enjoy a refreshing experience of rediscovery as I pull my books out of obscurity and arrange them in their full glory on my prominent new shelves on the wall of my home office.  Unfortunately, I also experience an undercurrent of suspicion that my time would be better spent reading the books than moving them.  I only hope that by moving them to a more prominent location, I will be more likely to take them off the shelves and read them.

"This has all become so utterly obscene that I honestly don't know what to say."

FindLaw: Nigerian State Says Miss World Reporter Should Die

"What we are saying is that the Holy Koran has clearly stated that whoever insults the Prophet of Islam, Mohammad, should be killed," Zamfara State Commissioner for Information Umar Dangaladima Magaji told Reuters.

A vivid reminder that freedom of speech is not a purely abstract concept.

One suspects that the Prophet's reputation does not need Mr. Magaji to defend it.  This pronouncement, however, demonstrates once again that there is no rule of law in Nigeria worthy of the name.
